Nepal enjoys four different climate seasons: Spring, Monsoon, Autumn & Winter in a year cycle. Spring considered as warm too hot depending on the places you visit on it’s varied landscapes. We can expect occasional short rain specially on the second half of day. Normally the weather is fine during spring. Monsoon brings significant amount of rain in all part of country except some high hilly or beyond the Himalayan area such as: Upper Mustang, Dolpo, Manang, Nar Phu area, etc. Autumn comes with truly pleasant weather with clear blue sky and crystal clear mountains. Winter falls with moderate cold, as you needs really warm clothes if you opt to explore the mountain trails. But should take precaution before heading to the highland. Kathmandu has an elevation of 1350m ( 4500 ft approx) and Pokhara 850 m( approx), for temperature in Kathmandu and Pokhara in different months , refer the table below.
Visiting Nepal is well possible throughout the year for Leisure tours. Better to gather proper information before going during Monsoon & Winter season. Trekking- Tour is better to take from last week of September to end of December. Nevertheless, easy & shorter Treks like Ghorepani poon hill trek or Jomsom trek can be done in monsoon too. Summer is an ideal season for trans Himalayan treks like Upper mustang, Dolpo, Nar Phu valley or for flora- fauna Treks as those region lies in rain shadow zone of the Himalayas. These area receives minimum or no rain even in summer, it is warmer and vegetation grow and alpine valley floors bloom with wild & local flowers.
Climate:
Spring (March to May) Large number of tourists, and one of the best times to visit
