GOSAIKUNDA HOLY TREK !

Gosaikunda Lake Trek is short and popular trekking route in Langtang region. This trek leads to holy Lake Gosaikunda, lies above 4380 meter on the lap of famous Langtang National Park. Carring a significant religious history associated with Lord Shiva, this lake is the most sacred pilgrimage site for Hindus. Tens of thousands of Hindu people visit this holy lake and pay their homage of belief during the major festival days and also around the year. Buddhist also honor this place as a seat of Guru Rimpoche.

The trek start with wonderful drive along the Pasang Lahmu highway, passing lovely village, river and green hills to Dhunche for overnight. Next morning we proceed for up hill climbing; walking along the Langtang National Parks woods. Species of deer, wild cats and rare Red Panda will be on your sight if you are lucky. The sheering hills covered with green forest will leads you to Shin Gompa (Chandanbari) for night stay. This small mid hill settlement is worth to stop over. You can feel the real mountain life and interact with the local villagers. Today is the very important day of this trip as we climb up to Gosaikunda Lake. We start walking towards Laurabina, passing dense forest for an hour and stop at Cholangpati for short rest before climbing Laurabina ascend. This section of climb is well talked about ridge climb before reaching the holy lake. During the Lauribina climb, will cross the tree line and heads towards Buddha top. The views on this climb is little more than heaven, as stunning mountain wall such as Langtang Himal, Ganesh, Manasalu, Annapurna and many others are smiling on the other side of valley, high rising mountains are simply amazing and downhill valley is just awesome. Your heart won’t let you leave this spot as heavenly views keep you stuck as glue.

Further half an hour steady walk, will takes you to Holy Lake Gosaikunda. Upon arrival, a crystal blue water holy lake is on your sight. You can observe the whole lake from any bank end or can make a circle by foot if interested. This amazing mountain lake has many traditional myth and religious descriptions. You can see, people are taking a holy dip and offering worship on the faith of Lord Shiva. There are several other lakes around. Two others are easily visible on the way, but can visit more further if interested.
