Overview

Upper Mustang Trekking (also called as Mustang region) is a remote ancient Buddhist kingdom lies beyond the Himalaya and has been a very special destination for explorers for many centuries. This forbidden kingdom lies in the mighty Himalaya on the Tibetan plateau. The geographical structure of this region is quite interesting to see and boasts high windy valleys, unusual stratified rock formations, eroded canyons and desert like surrounding. Its capital Lo-Manthang and surrounding area and monasteries are quite unique for visitors to experience. This magnificent Tibetan plateau is still unofficially ruled by a Buddhist King who lives in capital Lo-Manthang.

The fabled medieval art and architecture of walled city Lo-Manthang is incredibly eye catching. Many westerners come here for study and to find new evidence of ancient human lifestyle and activities. In the recent past a group of explorer discovered some valuable artifacts and objects of cultural and historical importance in this highland desert. Arrival in Kathmandu at anytime according to your flight schedule. Upon arrival, you will be greeted & welcome by our representative at arrival exit gate & transfer to Hotel, a briefing will be given on following day program. We do not have any specific activities planned for today. Later check in, refresh & enjoy looking around nearby area on own, O/N hotel in Kathmandu

In the morning our guide will meet you at hotel & deliver the trip briefing, check your trekking gears, necessary stuffs & help to arrange if anything missing. You can interact & ask any information if you have. He will be happy to share his knowledge. Later  proceed for guided cultural tour around the historical UNESCO World Heritage sites of Kathmandu: Kathmandu Durbar Area-the former Royal palace complex that holds several Temples, Monuments  & old Palace with full of traditional arts & cultural marks. Kumari Temple (The living Goddess residence) is major highlight of this area. Next we visit Bouddhanath Stupa– probably the biggest Stupa of its kind in the world. We can find large Tibetan population around the stupa as people consider this as Tibetan Stupa. More than 50 Tibetan Monasteries lies nearby this Stupa & offers wonderful atmosphere around the area.  Later we visit Swyambhunath Stupa– is another highly respected Buddhist site in Kathmandu. Located over a ridge in the north- west corner of city, Swayambhunath (Self- existed) Stupa offers breathtaking views of Kathmandu Valley, green hills & mountains in the distance. Widely popular as Monkey Temple among foreigner, a large number of Monkey make their home around the Stupa & surrounding Jungle; O/N hotel in Kathmandu

An exciting multi hours drive by Tourist Coach along the river bank with wonderful views of villages, terraced farmland, down- hill valley, typical market places & mountains will takes you to Pokhara. Upon arrival, enjoy the awesome views of famous Annapurna range including Mt. Fishtail that dominates the skyline or explore Fewa Lake and colorful street of Pokhara, O/N at hotel in Pokhara

After early breakfast rush to local airport & Fly to Jomsom. A 20 minutes adrenaline flight will takes you to the heart of highland from where we start our journey to the secret land. Later walking toward Kagbeni (2860M), 4 hours, O/N at Family run Inn

Day 05: Trekking to Chele (3050m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 06: Trekking to Syanbochen (3475m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 07: Trekking to Ghaymi (5320m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 08: Trekking to Charang (3500m), 5 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 09: Trekking to Lo- Manthang (3700m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)

Explore around Lo- Manthang- Visit several caves, hidden monasteries, ancient Caves & experience the traditional Tibetan alike civilization along with panoramic views of Himalaya, people & their lifestyle, O/N at Family run Inn

Day 11: Trekking to Drakmar (3800m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 12: Trekking to Ghiling (3810m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 13: Trekking to Chuksang (3050m), 6 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 14: Trek down to Jomsom (2700m), 7 hours, O/N at Family run Inn, (B,L,D)
Day 15: Fly back to Pokhara, leisure or explore the Pokhara valley, O/N at hotel in Pokhara (B)

After B/F at hotel, drives back to Kathmandu by Tourist Coach with same great experience. Leisure or looking around local market for last minute shopping or personal activities on own, O/N at hotel in Kathmandu

We keep this day as spare day incase of delayed to back Kathmandu on the mountain trip of this type. Leisure at hotel or go out for some shopping or soak around with personal activities, O/N at hotel in Kathmandu

Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Airport on time for your final departure. Your amazing remote area Trek has come to the pleasant end, fly home with great memories to cherish through the lifetime…
